Deciding to work with Jennifer was one of the best decision I have made! I had been applying to jobs but not getting much interest. When my dream job became available I knew it was time to step up my game. Jennifer helped me update my resume, put together a cover letter, and even make my LinkedIn more aesthetically pleasing. She was always quick to respond and offer suggestions throughout the process. In the end I was asked to interview and was hired.
When they sent me the contract I knew I wanted someone else to review it so I also hired Jennifer for this service. She helped me make revisions and made sure I was being offered the contract that worked best for me moving forward. I really appreciated her insight and quick turnaround with her services. Thank you so much Jennifer for helping me to achieve what I thought was the impossible.

I recently separated from the military after working 4 years as a family practice PA and looked to Jennifer to help me with the transition in my career. Jennifer was incredibly helpful in giving me tips about modifying my CV and cover letter to be relevant to the civilian world. Once I received a job offer, I really liked that she helped to review the offer and benefits package which provided me with the reassurance that I was heading in the right direction. Highly recommend her to any PA who needs help in a career transition!

As a recent graduate navigating the new employment world with private practices can be daunting with good, bad and dubious offers. Jennifer was very helpful in pointing out issues that should undoubtedly be addressed on a contract. She was also very informed on what is being offered nationwide to my peers. I feel very confident that I negotiated my best deal and I appreciate the team effort I experienced with Jennifer.

Jennifer provided an exceptional service that I could not have found elsewhere! Navigating the contracting and new employment process as a new grad PA was a daunting task. She made it manageable and even exciting. I got so many compliments from my employer after being hired that I had great questions and comments about the contract, all of which came right from Jennifer's expert advice. I have recommended, and will continue to, this service to all of my PA colleagues. I am very thankful I found it for myself!

Thank you a million times for your help and support as I've tried to determine my next steps. Your support and genuine concern made a huge difference. Fortunately for me and I'm sure many other PAs you are amazing!

I would like to take a moment to reach out to Jennifer Hohman (at pacareercoach.net) and thank her from the bottom of my heart for everything she has done to help launch me into the job of my dreams right out of school. I knew it was common for new grads to unknowingly fall into disadvantageous contracts or bad team fits with their first position, often regretting their decisions to become a PA in the first place.
The excitement of receiving an offer (any offer) can blindside even the smartest of grads and I wanted someone to turn to for advice in determining how fair an offer may be, which components outweigh others, and which questions to ask. Jennifer is an expert in contract negotiations specifically for PAs, and this is only one of the services she offers.
Her other service, the Career Consultation, offers resume/cv and cover letter revision and feedback, is one with which we've spent about 90% of our time together. I had a long, frustrating job search and Jennifer was there as a trusted advisor and a shoulder to lean on when times got tough. She helped me keep my head up and troubleshoot why others received interviews (and offers) and I was still floating around the applicant pools. When I had any exciting (or disappointing) news, she was my first contact and helped direct me where to go from there.
Ultimately, after a many month-long journey, Jennifer helped me find a job in a desired specialty, minutes from my house, with an incredible salary + benefits package, and a team to whom I feel very connected. I am over-the-moon with the outcome of my experience with Jennifer, but am sad to see her go.
I fully intend to turn to her again if I would like to explore another specialty in the future. I have already recommended her to former classmates who have found themselves either a bit lost or in unfortunate contracts. Her rates are incredibly reasonable (especially for AAPA members and new grads) and she is worth her weight in gold. I cannot recommend Jennifer highly enough and I hope this message may allow others to have a similarly amazing experience.

Ms. Hohman is an exceptional asset to the PA community. I hired a lawyer for my first contract negotiation, and the high fee was not worth the contract assistance since I only stayed at the job for a few months. As a PA who changed jobs frequently while trying to find the right fit, it wasn't feasible to hire a lawyer every time I needed to negotiate a contract.
Enter Jennifer, whose experience at looking at thousands of contracts proved to be a more practical and affordable alternative for my needs. She is direct, supportive, efficient and very approachable. Most importantly she is familiar with what makes a good contract versus an undesirable contract.

Let it be known that PA Career Coach Jennifer Hohman has proven, to me, to be just that. Jennifer helped me in many ways, sharing her wealth of knowledge throughout my entire process of starting a career as a newly certified PA.
I was initially referred to Jennifer as someone who could review contracts, but she went way beyond that call of duty. Jennifer also proved valuable in salary negotiation, answering questions about being on-call, benefits, liability concerns, bonus structures, profit-sharing and ultimately in helping me choose a position. I can NOT state enough how valuable Jennifer's services were, nor about her promptness and kindness. I have already recommended her to colleagues. Any PA could benefit from her services!

I reached out to Jennifer to assist me with contract negotiations. I was immediately impressed with her responsiveness and knowledge of PA related issues. Jennifer was a pleasure to work with. Her experience coaching and mentoring PAs is unsurpassed, serving within the top levels of professional advocacy for 14 years at the AAPA.
Given her exclusive and unique insight, she provided me with knowledge and feedback which enabled me to make much more informed decisions regarding contract negotiations and within my career at large. I recommend Jennifer without reservation to other PAs looking for career and contract guidance.

Thank you so much for your assistance: this service is amazing, especially for a new grad albeit an older one with a lot of real world experience.
J.C., PA-C
I have thought often about how much I value the support and advice I received from you while seeking a change in my career. You have been amazing, actually! Somehow you managed to be both comforting and very specific, while providing tools to clarify my specific job requirements. With your background working for the AAPA you bring a solid understanding of what it means to be a physician assistant in the world today. You provide a fantastic service as a career coach, and I will recommend you to any peer making a career change. Best wishes to you, Jennifer, and thank you!

I'm a new grad, and I was so grateful to have someone to go to for professional, objective advice as I consider offers. Jennifer is an amazing advocate for PAs and helped me evaluate the offer I was given and determine areas to negotiate. I had a great experience working with her and plan to go to her for advice in the future.
A.B., PA-C
After contacting Jennifer to discuss concerns with my office, Jennifer responded promptly by email and phone. I appreciated her honesty and professionalism, and she reviewed my contract to ensure there would be no legal barriers to leaving my PA position.
Kristin Norquest, PA-C
It was very reassuring to have your input on my situation. Thanks, too, for the articles you've written including "The Frankencontract" and your contributions to "Questions to Ask your Potential Physician Partner During the Interview."
Dave Brost, PA-C
I think what's nice about the PA community is that the majority are so eager to enrich one another both personally and professionally. We honor the importance of "see one, do one, teach one." I fully support your endeavors in advocating for Physician Assistants, because I too share the same passion. That common incentive being the implementation of efficient, quality, and patient-centered care, in an economical fashion. But the progression of this field is fostered by mentorship, which is essential for a prospective PA like me.
You took the time to present me with valuable advice and resources to succeed during my interview. Your suggestions helped me hone in on what was important to prepare for. I narrowed my focus and prepared to learn more about the history of the PA profession as well as the integral role that PA's play. In addition to this, you were able to give me reassurance and confidence through your kind words. I will be forever grateful to you for sharing your practical knowledge and useful resources.
Nada Salem, PA-S
Thank you once again for your VERY helpful responses! I feel much better equipped to evaluate this contract thanks to you and will be thinking about the job offer over the next couple of days.
